Cape Fear Bonsai Society
The Cape Fear Bonsai Society is a group of men and women who meet monthly to study and
practice the art of Bonsai.
The club has an active program of training through workshops, guest speakers and a sharing
of collective Bonsai expertise. Membership is open to both the novice and the more experienced
practitioner of Bonsai.
You are invited to come on by, join in, and get some dirt under your fingernails!

June 3, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Blaine Daugherty speaking on
pruning.
June 27, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Friday. Demonstration on styling and potting a bougainvillea as a
bonsai specimen by Eddie Cole, a member of the Cape Fear Bonsai Society. The
demonstration is free and open to the public. The bonsai specimen will be raffled at the
end of the demonstration.
June 28, 2008: 9:00-11:00 AM. Saturday. Workshop to style and pot a bougainvillea. BYOP -
(bring your own pot!!) Club members only.
July 1, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Ken Nordstrom speaking on
irrigation systems.
July 12, 2009: 1:00 PM. Saturday. Annual picnic hosted by Blaine and Ro Daugherty. Details
to be sent to members by email.
August 5, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Bonsai tools (to be confirmed).
August 8, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Friday. Demonstration on styling and potting a bonsai specimen
by a guest artist. The demonstration is free and open to the public. The bonsai specimen
will be raffled at the end of the demonstration. (TO BE CONFIRMED)
August 9, 2008: 9:00-11:00 AM. Saturday. BYOT - Bring your own tree to be styled and potted
as a bonsai specimen. Club members only. (TO BE CONFIRMED)
September 2, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Pots and tree
presentation.
October 7, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Wiring.
October 10-11-12, 2008: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bonsai Expo 2008 at The North
Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC. Cape Fear Bonsai Society participating.
November 4, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Annual auction and
election of officers.
December 2, 2008: 7:00-9:00 PM. Tuesday. Monthly meeting. Agenda: Repotting and root
pruning.
